Local Guide: Sunriver & Bend

Everything you need to plan your stay, from floating the river to finding dinner.

Communities Nearby

Four Central Oregon towns worth the drive — each site below is maintained by its own local visitor organization or chamber of commerce.

Sunriver

Home base — resort shops and dining at The Village, miles of bike paths, and the Deschutes River right outside your door.

Bend

About 20 minutes north — breweries, the Old Mill shopping district, Hayden Homes Amphitheater, and dog-friendly trails everywhere you look.

La Pine

A quiet drive south — La Pine State Park, Newberry Volcanic Monument, and an easy-going small-town day trip.

Sisters

A charming Western-storefront mountain town about 45 minutes away — browse boutiques including a local llama farm’s wool shop (famous for its socks), and don’t miss Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce for local businesses and events.
